Mombo Nursing Pillow

This post brought to you by Comfort and Harmony. All opinions are 100% mine.

With the addition of Alison to our life, I’ve once again been brought back into the world of baby products.  I cannot believe how much has changed in the short time since Cameron was born.  The must have product for me with him was the Boppy.  I was recently gifted the Mombo nursing pillow to try out and man have nursing pillows come a long way.

The Mombo is the same shape as my other pillow, but had a few different features:

  • Two sided – one side for nursing that was a bit more stiff, and other side for lounging (for Ali, not me)
  • Vibrating Insert – although the insert looks like a boob, it is a great feature for the pillow.  You add in batteries and insert it into the pillow and it adds a bit more motion for Alison.
  • Soft and easily removable cover

Overall, I was very impressed with this version of a nursing pillow and would recommend it to someone who was in the market for one.   The two sides make for a much more stable surface for nursing as opposed to other pillows where I was constantly readjusting Ali in the pillow.  The cover was comfortable and soft.  My only critique is that it didn’t seem as mailable as other nursing pillows, in that if I wanted to mold it around Alison to help her with sitting up, it didn’t stay as tight around her as others…but I guess that is why it is a nursing pillow and not a Bumpo huh.  Additional Mombo™ products are available at Babies R Us.  Also, be sure to like  Comfort & Harmony on Facebook and follow Comfort & Harmony on Twitter.

Bottom Line: Mombo is a multifunctional nursing pillow that adds comfort and support for a great price.

Back to Work & Life | April Update

Here are some random images from the last month….back to work, back to warm weather, and back to loving life.  We had a trip to Nebraska, lots of cuddle time, my sisters Bachelorette Party and Bridal Shower, a last minute trip to St. Louis for Cameron and Ali’s first visit to Busch Stadium, and I started a Stella and Dot business!  So excited about what the months ahead are going to bring!April 2013

A Letter To My Future Self : F*ck Leaning In

You have been at home with your family for the last three months.  You are so luck to have gotten that time (although in France they get much more but it is not healthy to be jealous of their maternity leave or their macarroons).  In those three months, you have gotten to know your daughter, adjusted to a life that doesn’t stop as a mother of two.  You kept your house pretty clean, your meals pretty healthy, and your marriage still in tact.  Did you work out every day like you said you were going to.  No.  Did you get all the projects done that you said you were going to get done.  No.  But you did enjoy life with your family.  You were careful with yourself and your family.  Remember this next week when you are back to work.

On Monday, your two worlds will once again collide.  You will be back at work now as a mother to two.  The anxiety that you are feeling right now will go away.  Remember?  The feeling of needing to do it all will soon fade away into a routine and you being reminded of your limits.  It will take awhile and you will fail some days, but it will be OK.  Your kids won’t remember this time.  Your husband will and your friends will.  Lean on them.  Don’t go back into your hole and feel like it is impossible because it isn’t.

You have been here before.  You know what to expect.  You are once again a new person.  This is once again a fresh start for how you organize your life and your priorities.  You are a mother of two and your limits have to be harder and faster than they were before.  You have to have those limits or the world will rise up to take everything you have left away from your family and most important…yourself.

It is going to be ok.  You are going to be ok.  F*ck Leaning In…just stay on your feet.

Sleeping Sitting Up

We have been struck with the plague at this house. It started with Cameron and a minor cough and has turned into Ali being diagnosed with RSV and the last three night, me sleeping like this….

We are currently on day 6 of this “little” virus and day 8 of being quarantined in the house. To say we are going a little nuts is a understatement. Please send reinforcements and more kiddie cocktails! It is going to be a long weekend!

10 New Baby Must Haves

So we have made it through a month of a newborn once again being in the house. Even with all the stuff we have from Cameron that we just “had to have”, I’m finding that less is more is so much better when it comes to the second child. Here are a few of the things I couldn’t live without these days….

Top 10 Must Haves
    1. Glamourmom Nursing Bra Full Bust Long Top - Think best nursing bra ever meets Spanx.  Living in these.
    2. Brica Day and Night Light Musical Auto Mirror - Great for keeping an eye in the dark in the car.
    3. JJ Cole Original Infant Bundleme - It is winter in Wisconsin and instead of having to bundle Ali up every time we leave the house, we added this to car seat and add a hat and we are good to go.
    4. Maya Wrap Lightly Padded Baby Sling - I don’t seem to have enough hands and this is perfect for multi-tasking, I’m even wearing it right now…sorry if I have broken down the 4th wall.
    5. Munchkin Warm Glow Wipe Warmer - girls pee without diapers more than my baby boy, so in the middle of the night, the warmer has been a lifesaver…did I mention it is cold here?
    6. Fisher-Price Discover ‘n Grow Activity Bouncer - See #4
    7. Summer Infant Secure Sight Handheld Color Video Monitor - This is still for Cameron…with the move to the big boy bed, it is great to see what he is up to…also good for the recent addition to his line-up…tantrums.
    8. Keurig B60 Special Edition Brewing System - Sleep has not been as illusive as it was with child #1, but this does make the morning start faster and has saved so much in Starbucks trips.
    9. UGG Australia Womens Classic Mini Boot - Pre-school drop offs are much warmer than they were before.  Wish I had these earlier in my pregnancy.
    10. Your Three-Year-Old: Friend or Enemy - See #7…this book is helping me realize that we are not alone and it isn’t personal….At least I don’t think it is.

These are a few of my favorite things….I wasn’t paid to say that…but if you do like them, click on the links (they do link you to my affiliate link).  What are your favorite products?   What could you not live without with a newborn?
