Sunday Shopping

The weekends typically are the times when we get the most done - at least for me. I run to the grocery store, buy those cards and gifts for friends and family, diapers, wipes, and maybe - just maybe - a little thing for myself. Sunday Shopping is a Link up party designed to highlight some of the money saving tips we have found or great sales we picked up over the weekend. Enjoy!

Sunday Shopping | Layla Grayce

Hi there….can we talk?  I’m having a bit of an obsessive relationship at the moment.  I think I’m addicted.  It has been a love affair growing for the last few years.  But just now, just in the last few weeks, do I feel it has grown into something more.  I’m talking about Petunia Pickle Bottom.

The Petunia Pickle Bottom Spring 2012 collection has arrived at Layla Grayce, featuring all new prints in their popular diaper bags, totes, coordinating travel bags, cell phone cases….I know, I had you at diaper bags.  Check out some of these lovelies…

Petunia Pickle Bottom Change it up Clutch Santiago Sunset – $62.00

Fits a diaper, wipes and a changing pad.  No more lugging around the big diaper bag…..and so my iPhone and diaper carrying device should match….

Petunia Pickle Bottom Adorn iPhone 4 Case Santiago Sunset – $38.00

Seriously.  Love the color, love the flowers, love it all…..and then,

Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper Bag Cross Town Clutch Idyllic Ibiza – $89.00

For those more special occasions – where you still need to carry diapers and wipes and your phone and chapstick and cheerios and your husbands keys..but still don’t want to bring the whole bag.  Heart.

So, these are a bit expensive, but they are an investment right?  Also, Layla Grayce is offering Free shipping on Petunia Pickle Bottom orders over $50.  Additionally, if you spend over $250 in Petunia Pickle Bottom products you can receive a coupon for $25 that can be used towards your next Layla Grayce purchase.

So, any guesses on how many days until I pull the trigger and put myself into debt?  Hmmmm…birthday money may be coming my way…….

I am an affiliate for Layla Grayce and also received a small stipend for this post, but really, they just paid me to come out of the closet with my PPB obsession.  I feel so free now that everyone knows…

Sunday Shopping | For Kids

It is cold here in Wisconsin.  I thought that today I would show you a few of the products that are helping us get through the cold winter indoors.

LeapPad

Cameron received this gift from his grandma for Christmas and since then we have gone through more batteries then I would like to admit.  The setup of this little gadget was not cheap (with each app between $6-$20), but it is worth it.  It has the camera and can even play movies.  It is wonderful for the longer car rides and definitely worth the investment.

The Car Rug

This rug also came into our house along with the gifting of generations worth of Matchbox cars.  It is awesome to hear Cameron start working his imagination, taking his little cars to the gas station and on the railroad.  I’ve only stepped on the cars in the dark twice this week.  We are working on putting those little gems away…

The Potty Chair

Yeah, it is that time.  We are introducing the Potty Chair into this toddler household.  We picked up the Safety First Monkey Potty a few months ago.  Since that time, it has been sitting in the corner of the bathroom.  Just sitting.  Unused…well I take that back….it gets used when Cameron wants M&Ms.  He will only sit on it, fully clothed.  But at least it is cute.

Toddler TeePee

This is not the same one that we have (ours was home made by Gma Beth) but this one is pretty darn close.  Cameron comes home from daycare and runs right into his “tennis” as he calls it to check on his friends – his stuffed puppy and his Mickey Mouse.  If we are lucky, we get invited into the “tennis” to have raisins and watch TV – that is, his pretend TV on the wall. It is one of my favorite places in the world.

Toddler Trampoline

Ok, so technically he doesn’t have the todder trampoline yet – but I couldn’t find a picture of him him jumping up and down in his crib.  This baby hopefully will be here in house in time for Valentines Day.  At least  I hope it will because I’m not sure his mattress can take much more if this little monkey.

I know it goes against the whole “budget” thing, but it was just too beautiful to pass up. Le sigh.

Sunday Shopping | Rent The Runway

Just got back from a wedding in Nebraska where one of my dearest friend married her best friend and all us friends got together and cried, laughed, and drank. Remember when I told you that before I travel to see people, I often go into a bit of a panic? Where I feel the need to spend crazy amounts of money on stuff that I don’t need? Well, I think I may have found a way around this.

I’m so tired of buying last minute dresses that I wear once. But I don’t want to lay down the coin for a designer dress. So, I rented a dress from Rent The Runway.

Here is how it works, you tell them the occasion, you tell them your body type, and you tell them when you need it. Their stylists (who are much smarter than me) tell you what you should wear. You choose the ones you like and they arrive at your door for no less than $50!

With the help of some very good friends, I picked out this one:

Yeah, looked just like this on me...

New York Wonder Dress | Rent The Runway.

It arrived in a handy little garment bag and off we went.  (Oh, and they send you two sizes just in case one doesn’t fit….not that that would happen to me…I can keep myself away from carbs. Iron Will Angie is what they call me ;)

I had the shoes, I had the dress, and it was a wonderful night!  The next day, I put it in its bag, in the mail, and that is it.  No dry cleaning, no stress, and less luggage!  Rent the Runway didn’t pay me for this at all, just my honest opinion on an amazing service.
