>Look Kids…Big Ben, Parliment

>Can I tell you how much I love Jeff’s new job!?  I Love it.  He is so happy there and the people there are great all that stuff….but I Love it with a capital L because he gets to go to places like LONDON for work!  So, since I found the job, encouraged him to apply, proofed his resume, and …ummm..gave birth to his only son, I get to tag along too.

We spent the first two days in London, just being in the city.  Both of us couldn’t believe how simple of a flight it was from Chicago and also how easy it was to get around.  Our hotel was right downtown, and the Pope was in town for a visit so there was lots of activity.

 Our Hotel
Beg Ben.  It was a perfect day.

Waiting for the Pope….but…got tired of waiting
and saw him from our hotel instead
The Tower of London…the doors were this beautiful color next to the dark of the brick.
Because I’m 12….
After 48 hours in London, we hopped on the train to Paris.  Never in my wildest dreams would I ever think I would visit Paris.  Even while there I kept looking over at Jeff saying that this isn’t real.  Good think I had the camera with otherwise I would still not believe it.  Now if only I was a better photographer.  Here are some of my better attempts….

We were in Paris for less than 48 hours.  I have to admit, I was afraid to go.  I was so keyed up on how mean the French were to us and that no one would speak English that I don’t think I let go enough to try and just be in the city.  I would like to go back with a bit more notice and a higher self-esteem to actually speak those phrases I learned on the You Can Speak French Podcast I listened to in the 90 minute ride to Paris.

It was an amazing trip.  I am very luck to have great family to watch Cameron on a whim when we go on trips like this.  My travels in the next few months will take me to Minneapolis, Austin, Salt Lake City, Orlando, and maybe even Vegas.  I am a pretty lucky girl to add this one to the mix.
